After working for four years as a Scuba Diving Instructor I started working in the business in 1996 on a part time basis whilst studying at Glasgow Caledonian University where I qualified first as a Dispensing Optician and then as an Optometrist.
My main interest within optometry is contact lenses and I am involved in fitting and training other optometrists in the use of specialist contact lenses, such as Nocturnalens. I also fit contact lenses on behalf of the NHS managing patients with keratoconus, aphakes and prosthetic contact lenses. I enjoy the challenge of giving the best optical correction for people with specialist needs.

I'm originally from Portugal and moved to Scotland at a young age. I started my journey in optics at the age of sixteen, working in an opticians part-time while studying. I graduated in 2019 from Glasgow Caledonian University. For the first couple of years of my career, I was a mobile optometrist covering various Scottish health boards, including Glasgow, Lothian, and Fife.
